Minah Woo Chosen for the Leadership Maryland Executive Program Class of 2025

Howard Community College Vice President of Workforce, Innovation, and Strategic Partnerships is one of 53 selected for statewide professional development program
COLUMBIA, MD – Leadership Maryland (LM) announced that Minah Woo, vice president of workforce, innovation, and strategic partnerships at Howard Community College (×ãÇò²©²ÊÂÛ̳), has been chosen to participate in the Executive Program as a member of the Class of 2025.
"This well-earned recognition demonstrates the greatness of the senior leadership at Howard Community College," said Dr. Daria J. Willis, president of Howard Community College. "Minah is paving the way for innovation in workforce development and her extensive contributions to the Howard County community make her an excellent member for this program.”
Woo is one of the 53 individuals chosen for the Leadership Maryland Executive Program’s 32nd class, who will complete the eight-month, hands-on learning program focused on the state’s most vital issues. The program will run from April to December, and include five, two-day sessions focused on Maryland’s five main geographic regions and the most vital issues impacting economic development, education, health and human services, criminal justice, the environment, and multi-culturalism/diversity across the state. More than 100 experts representing Maryland’s business, government, education, and non-profit communities will serve as panelists and guest speakers.
“My work is built on providing access to opportunities and removing barriers for the populations who are often left behind. This work cannot be done alone or in a silo,” said Woo. “With a deeper understanding of Maryland’s issues and resources along with the connections I make in the program, I can now be part of the solution.”
At ×ãÇò²©²ÊÂÛ̳, Woo is instrumental in implementing traditional and non-traditional apprenticeship programs. Since 2018, the college has grown to offer eight apprenticeship programs in eleven occupations including construction management, biomedical technology, information technology, licensed practical nurse (LPN), software development, and surgical technologist.
“We are excited to announce our next class and welcome these accomplished and motivated individuals to the Executive Program,” said David Fike ’16 (LM) president and CEO, Leadership Maryland. “After a careful review and interview process, I am confident that the 53 members of the Class of 2025 represent a powerful cross-section of leaders who have a strong desire to make a broader impact within our state. I look forward to watching them grow as they build their knowledge, experience, and connections through our premier leadership program”
Woo serves on various boards such as Howard County’s Board to Promote Self Sufficiency, Association of Community Services of Howard County, Maryland Center for Construction Education and Innovation, Howard County Chamber of Commerce, and Leadership Howard County. She also serves as an advisory board member for the Columbia Downtown Partnership.
Woo hold a bachelor’s degree in education from Cairn University, a master’s degree in counseling from Missio Seminary, a master’s degree in teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) from Notre Dame of Maryland University where she is currently a Ph.D. candidate.
