Step 6: Make your payment arrangements. As a member of the National Guard, you will receive the following reduced tuition costs:

• Howard County residents: 50 percent tuition discount based on the in-county rate.
• Maryland residents: 25 percent tuition discount based on the in-county rate.
• Out-of-state residents: 25 percent tuition discount based on the in-county rate.

Deployment during an academic term
Members of the military, including active-duty military, reservists and members of the National Guard who receive orders to deploy during an academic term are eligible to receive 100 percent refunds for tuition, fees, and books or petition for an incomplete grade. Submit a copy of your military orders or a letter from your commanding officer to the Office of Records, Registrations, and Veterans' Affairs at register@howardcc.edu.

We Never Assume a Student is Using Benefits

The Process:

1. A few weeks before Registration opens, the Promissory Note is added to your 棋完美视讯 portal.
2. Once you fill it out and upload it, notification comes to the 棋完美视讯 RRVA office. If you do not upload it, we do not know if you want to use benefits.
3. We certify your classes to the VA for payment and put a hold in your account to stop your classes from Dropping for Non-payment.

Please Check your Promissory Note for Accuracy

• Make sure that you have the upcoming term and year correct
  • If it is uploaded partway through a term, it is for the upcoming term
• Verify you have the correct benefit requested
• Please be sure that the date on the signature line is current
• For Military Tuition Assistance, please be sure that you note the correct branch of service

Can I use my benefits at two institutions simultaneously?
Yes! You may use your benefits at another institution as long as the courses apply to your degree. Before visiting at another school, get permission from your 棋完美视讯 advisor and an 棋完美视讯 VA School Certifying Official. 

I am transferring to 棋完美视讯 and want to use my VA benefits. What do I do?
If you’re a Veteran or service member, you’ll need to submit a Request for Change of Program or Place of Training (). If you’re the dependent of a Veteran or service member, you’ll need to submit a Dependent’s Request for Change of Program or Place of Training  Then follow the steps above to use your GI Bill^® benefits.  

What areas of study can I use my benefits for and for which courses will the VA pay?
All associate degree and certificate programs at 棋完美视讯 are approved by the Maryland Higher Education Commission to be eligible for the use of VA Educational Benefits. You can only declare one program at a time. Courses required for your program of study, including developmental courses, will be paid for by the VA.

Which continuing education programs can I use my VA benefits for?

Can I apply for financial aid in addition to using my VA benefits?
Yes! Start by completing the  (FAFSA). 棋完美视讯’s school code is 008175. Applying for financial aid is required step for veterans and dependents to ensure that you receive a breakdown of all forms of financial aid available to you.  Financial planning tools and resources, such as the College Scorecard and College Navigator, are available on our  website.

Do I have to pay up front if I’m using my benefits?
No way!  棋完美视讯 provides service members, veterans, and dependents special financial arrangements.  To use this incentive, complete the Veterans Education Benefits Promissory Note. 

How do I find out how much of my benefits I have left?
You can see how many benefits you’ve used and what benefits remain by visiting your  account.

Are there scholarships for the military community?
You bet!  Scholarships for the military community are available in addition to the full complement of scholarships for all 棋完美视讯 students.
