A: Students are encouraged to meet with an advisor to assist with the development of an academic schedule that can accommodate 7-week and 15-week.

Q: What courses will be offered in the 7-week format?

A: Currently, the College offers over 900 distinct courses that support all of its academic programs every semester. In spring 2025, the College will offer sections of these courses in a 7-week format. To view additional course offerings, please visit .

Q: When registering, how will students be able to choose a course that is either 7 weeks or 15 weeks long?

A: In Self-Service , students will be able to filter by Course Type and there will also be icons on the section that indicates if a course is 7 weeks. The icon will also indicate whether the course is offered during the first 7 weeks of the semester or the second 7 weeks of the semester.

Q: Can students take 7-week and 15-week courses at the same time?

A: Yes, a student can enroll in 7-week and 15-week courses at the same time depending on their schedule and program of study.

Q: How many courses or credits are students allowed to register for in an accelerated pathway 7-week term?

A: Students can register for a maximum of 11 credits in one given 7-week term with a maximum of 18 credits for the entire academic term. Students who seek to enroll in more than the maximum course load must schedule an appointment with an advisor to discuss their options.

Q: What if a student needs to add or drop a class? Will they have to do that sooner due to the accelerated nature of the course?

A: Students should refer to the tuition refund and withdraw deadlines on the website.

Q: What modalities are available for accelerated courses?

A: Course modalities will include hybrid, online, face-to-face, and scheduled remote.

Q: Will the College provide more evening or weekend classes?

A: When scheduling, the College evaluates scheduling based on many factors including course demand, faculty availability, and enrollment. Courses are offered in a variety of days/times that fit the demands of our students.

Q: Will summer sessions also be offered in 7-week sessions?

A: Yes, summer courses will be offered in a 7-week session. For some academic programs, a 10-week session will be offered.

Q: Will the application process and deadlines change for financial aid, and will a student need to apply more than once a year?

A: No. A student only needs to apply for financial aid once a year.

Q: Will financial aid evaluate my progress after completing an accelerated session?

A: No, Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) will continue to be evaluated at the end of each traditional 15-week term.

Q: Will there be support services available for 7-week courses? 

A: Yes, 7-week courses will include support services such as embedded tutoring as well as support services provided by the Academic Center for Excellence (ACE).

Q: If a student receives accommodations, how will these work with accelerated pathways course(s)?

A: Disability Support Services will continue to work with students to accommodate their individual needs.

Q: If a student fails a 7-week course, how will their Grade Point Average (GPA) be affected? 

A: GPA will continue to be calculated based on all courses attempted at 棋完美视讯 regardless of the length of the course. GPA will also continue to be calculated immediately upon the submission of final grades.

Q: Will HCPSS Dual Enrollment and JumpStart students be required to take accelerated courses?

A: No, HCPSS students are not required to enroll in 7-week courses. They will have the option to register for either 15-week and/or 7-week courses. Students should consult with an 棋完美视讯 advisor and a high school counselor regarding registration. 

Q: Will class content still align to HCPSS standards for the courses that count for HCPSS credit?

A: Yes, course objectives align with HCPSS standards and will remain the same.
